Our Philosophy

Therapy helps people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, become free of old patterns, or simply find ways to process pain or memories that have kept them feeling stuck. It is a healing process that allows people to not only start feeling better but gain insight, awareness, and ultimately begin trusting their own intuition and experiences.

Authentic Self Psychological Services aims at providing growth, relief, and healing for any individual that enters our practice. We actively strive to create an inclusive space that welcomes everyone and anyone through our clinic doors. We understand that this is a big step in life’s journey, we have complete reverence that our clients allow us to work hand in hand with each of our clients during the therapeutic process. We understand that everyone comes to therapy with different experiences and expectations. The ultimate goal is to explore the current issues impacting you while exploring the underlying factors impeding your ability to reach your desired healthy balance.

School Based Advocacy

Dr. Kristina Kalaj has 20+ years of experience working as a school psychologist in the public school system. I understand that the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET), Individual Education Plan (IEP), and 504 Plan meetings are overwhelming and often result in your child missing out on their legally required services of remediation. After an evaluation is completed, I am available for services to attend those meetings either in person or via zoom. Please note your insurance would not pay for this service, this would be a self-pay service offered.
